Drusilla's Inn Shepherd's Huts provide the perfect retreat situated in the rural village of Horton in picturesque Dorset. Our traditional Dorset shepherd’s huts have been lovingly built at Drusilla’s by local craftsmen using the traditional method and they are fully insulated and suitable for staying in throughout the year – even in the snow!
Each hut is well equipped for a comfortable ‘glamping’ stay cosy duvets, fluffy towels, a soft fleecy blanket, hairdryer and tea and coffee facilities. The bathrooms have a heated towel rack so your towels are always toasty warm and another radiator in the bedroom ensures that is equally warm. There are cast iron hanging hooks for clothes and there is plenty of room for cases under the bed.
In the summer outside furniture and a fire, a cage is provided so you can sit underneath the stars in front of the roaring open fire and star gave into the beautiful dark twinkling skies.
There is ample parking in Drusilla’s Inn’s huge car park which is only a few seconds walk from the huts.
There is no need to worry about breakfast as a traditional English breakfast including tea or coffee is included and consist of a traditional shepherds breakfast similar to those the shepherds would have cooked for themselves whilst staying in their huts in the fields so our breakfasts feature typical farm produce – eggs, bacon and sausages.
Three great walks start at Drusilla’s, and two others start in Verwood and West Moors and finish at Drusilla’s – so make a great walking or cycling day out, through Thomas Hardy’s Wessex countryside.
