Dolgamedd Caravan & Camping Park

Dolgellau, Gwynedd, Snowdonia National Park

Description

Dolgamedd is a quiet and relaxed caravan and camping site 3 miles from the old market town of Dolgellau. The site is located on the banks of the River Wnion (pronounced ‘Ooh-nee-on’) in Parc Eryri/Snowdonia National Park.

Our family run park is surrounded by mountains, lakes and rivers, perfect for a peaceful getaway. We are ideal for people who want to enjoy nature and experience lots of great activities in the local area. Please note, we do not accept stag/hen parties and loud music is not allowed.

We offer pitches for tents, tourers and campervans. There is plenty of space and some pitches have their own wooden picnic benches. All hook up pitches require different length cables, so please let us know the size of your cable when booking. All hook ups are now 10 AMP.

Cae Gwair (Hayfield) is for long stay caravans and all the pitches are fully serviced. Cae Canol (Middle Field) has 11 hook ups points and is mostly grass. Y Lefel Uchaf (The Upper Level) is for caravans and campervans/motohomes, with some hard-standing pitches and 4 on grass. Yr Afon (The Riverbank) is for tents and small campervans (large campervans are permitted if the ground is not too wet).

Onsite we have a reception building with toilets, free showers and washrooms, a large disabled/family shower room/toilet, launedrette (£3 per wash), dishwashing area and chemical waste disposal point. A large campers kitchen is available and we provide a free freezer pack service and mobile phone charging. No wifi at present, sorry.

There are plenty of walks from the campsite, as well as the beautiful Torrent Walk 2 miles up the road. We also recommend Llwybr Cynwch/Precipice walk 3 miles away. For the fit, Cader Idris (893m) is a gem.
Superb mountain biking available at Coed y Brenin (you can cycle there via quiet lanes if you’re really fit). Safe family cycling along the old railway track to Barmouth. Watersports at Llyn Tegid, Bala (15 miles away) and beautiful beaches all along the coast.
