Description

PLEASE BOOK DIRECTLY ON WEBSITE ON BOOKING PAGE

Kingsettle camping retreat is perfect for a rural getaway in a quiet countryside setting. Our 7-acre site is nestled beneath King Alfreds Tower and offers nature at its best in an ecologically run retreat on the edge of Somerset where it meets with Dorset and Wiltshire. We are close to Bruton and Stourhead and only 5 miles from the A303.

Our tranquil and scenic eco retreat is the ideal place to escape from the pressures of modern day life. This beautiful site is perfect for those that prefer bird song to radio and enjoy only nature’s sounds and quiet conversation from 10 pm.
The extensive meadow that occupies the centre of the site is left for the wildlife and provides you with a feeling of space and privacy. Everyone can enjoy an evening under the stars and toast marshmallows over their own campfire having watched the sun setting on sunny days.

The upper setion of the site has pitches for 6 families with younger children and has an adjoining play area, where children can play happily without disturbing you or your neighbour. The lower section of the site offers 12 pitches for adults who prefer a more relaxed pace of life. These generous-sized pitches offer accommodation for a mix of up to 17 campers or camper vans and up to 7 motor homes or caravans.
Electric charging points for phones and some appliances are available.

If you don’t fancy the hassle of putting up your own tent, you can stay in Gabriel our hand crafted Shepherds hut. Gabriel is positioned at the lower end of the site and boasts wonderful views of King Alfreds Tower. Gabriel sleeps two adults in a double bed and one child in a single bed that doubles as a sofa when the otherwise seating of 2 comfortable rocking chairs are removed. The kitchen area has a double gas hob, a small balsam sink with water traditionally brought in from your own private stand pipe.
You can request the use of the retro wood-burning stove if the weather isn’t ideal for a campfire. A picnic bench and private composting toilet are outside for your convenience.

PITCHES: Tents or Camper-vans up to 17.
Caravans-Motorhomes up to 7.
