Castle Guards Farm Retreat

Bridekirk, Cockermouth, Cumbria

Description

Tucked away in a secluded private valley on the north-western edge of the Lake District, Castle Guards Farm sits within the rolling countryside of Cumbria. A short private track leads to just a handful of well-spaced pods set on a working farm, ensuring peace, privacy and plenty of space to breathe.

The pods perch on an open valley side beneath graceful ash trees, where hares can often be seen darting across the grass. From here, excellent road and cycle routes put both the heart of the Lakes and the Cumbrian coast within easy reach, so adventure is never far away.

Every pod can be booked with its own wood-fired Finnish hot tub - perfect for families or couples who want to unwind under the stars. Simply select the hot-tub option when reserving your stay and sink into warm, soothing waters whenever the mood strikes.

All the pods sleep 6 people in 1 double, a double sofa bed and 2 bunk beds, all perfect for a peaceful night’s sleep. They also have an outdoor picnic table and BBQ for al fresco dining when the sun is shining. Facilities in all the pods include:

Welcome pack.
Seating Area.
Parking 2 cars.
Smart Freeview TV.
Power Shower.
Dining Table + 6 Chairs.
Bedding and Towels.
Electrical points.
Underfloor heating.
Microwave + Kettle.
Dishwasher.
Fridge-Freezer.
Hob with 2 rings.
4 slice toaster.
Crockery, cutlery.
Utensils, glasses.

We are in an ideal position for discovering all that the area has to offer. The site is on the start of the National Cycle Route 10 and lots of picturesque walking routes are in the area. In the area, there are lots of restaurants and a local whisky distillery. Some of the restaurants also deliver takeaways. You can meet alpacas at Blencogo Farm or enjoy a day out at The Beacon, a modern museum on local history. Attractions to visit include:

Lake District Aquarium.
Kong Adventure.
Gilcrux Trout Fish Farm.
Lake District Wildlife Park.
Senhouse Roman Museum.
