Mandale Campsite

Haddon Grove, Bakewell, Derbyshire

Description

Mandale Campsite is located on the edge of Lathkill Dale in the White Peak area of the Peak District National Park. Set on a working farm with animals grazing in the surrounding fields, the campsite offers a truly rural and peaceful escape. It lies about one mile from the village of Over Haddon and just a few miles from Monyash, making it ideally positioned for exploring the local area.

The campsite has two fields available for the general public. We welcome tents, campervans and motorhomes (sorry no touring caravans please). The main field is perfect for families and small groups and includes three hook-up points. There are two toilet blocks, a shower block with four showers in each and a washroom equipped with a fridge and freezer. Hot water is coin-operated and charged at 20 pence per minute. The second field is slightly sloped but offers a quiet and picturesque spot for camping.

While Mandale Campsite offers a relaxing environment, it does have a few important guidelines to maintain the peaceful atmosphere. Large groups and loud music are not permitted and campfires are not allowed, although disposable barbecues are welcome. Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a lead at all times. During bank holiday weekends, there is a two-night minimum stay and for hook-up bookings, a three-night minimum stay applies.

We also have a camping barn and pine log cabin available, please see our website for details.

Both Over Haddon and Monyash have excellent pubs and Monyash also features a fantastic children’s play area. The historic market town of Bakewell is only three miles away, and the spa town of Buxton is about a 20-minute drive. Lathkill Dale itself is now a nature reserve managed by Natural England, home to a variety of flora and fauna as well as outstanding geological features. The area surrounding Mandale Campsite is rich in attractions. Visitors can explore stately homes like Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall, enjoy family fun at Gulliver’s Kingdom in Matlock Bath, or visit Arbour Low Stone Circle, which sits 1,200 feet above sea level and offers spectacular views.

With scenic walks, peaceful surroundings, and plenty to see and do nearby Mandale Campsite is a great choice for a countryside getaway.
