Description

Dwyros Campsite is situated at the end of the beautiful Llyn Peninsula in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The site enjoys panoramic views. On one side it overlooks Aberdaron Bay with its distinctive two islands. This is in complete contrast to open farmland and hills in the other direction. The silvery reflection of a full moon across the bay coupled with the sound of waves crashing on the beach is an unforgettable experience.

Our family-run site is the perfect place to escape from the pressures of modern life. We have pitches for tents, caravans and camper vans, including pitches with electric and without electric. Onsite we have hot shower, hair dryers, washing and drying facilities, a freezer and baby-changing facilities. We also offer fantastic food-to-go from ‘Y Cwt’, offering Monday night desserts and Thursday night curries. You can also look forward to a tasty bacon bap to set you up for the day ahead.

A six minute walk takes you down to the idyllic village of Aberdaron with its award winning sandy beach, shops, cafes and hotels. Being so near to the village, you don’t need to use your car whether you’re planning a day out on the beach or a night out in the pub.

A footpath that starts opposite the entrance to the site takes you down to a quieter end of the sandy beach. The same footpath is also the starting point of the coastal walk that takes you around the end of the peninsula. There are numerous walks in the area that offer breathtaking views and a variety of wildlife including the rare chough and many species of butterflies.

There is excellent fishing in the area with mackerel, pollack, wrasse, bass, dogfish, tope and conger being the most common species. Boat launching is possible but not easy. Other water sports such as sailing, windsurfing, surfing, snorkelling and diving are also popular.

A boat can take you on a day trip to the historic Bardsey Island that lies three miles off the end of the peninsula, or you can enjoy shorter excursions around the bay and two islands. The nestling colonies of sea birds including puffins, guillemots and razorbills on these islands is a sight not to be missed in early summer.

Rates: From £12 - £25 per pitch per night.
